You can combine the night in the desert with some activity; quad, henna tattoos, visit to the souk (traditional market), stay with local families, a walk through the kasbahs... or simply to enjoy the tranquility and beauty of the place.
Erg Chegaga is a desert area about 450km from Marrakech. In Chegaga there is a sea of dunes about 45 km long and 300m dunes. Tall. It is a landscape that remains in the retina of the traveler forever.
Pick up at the accommodation in Marrakech and start of the trip to the south. We cross the High Atlas, at its highest point the Tizi'n Tizcka Mountain (2,260m). At the foot of the mountain we will find the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco. We continue through Ouarzazate and from there to the Draa Valley, one of the most beautiful routes in the country. We will pass through Zagora, the last city before entering the desert; Tamgroute, where we find the green ceramic cooperative and we will arrive at Tagounite, where we will spend the night.
Day 2 Tagounite - visit Kasbahs - M'hamid - Ouasi Sacre - Erg ChigagaAfter breakfast we will take a walk through some of the kasbahs that surround the town of Tagounite. We will follow the route to M'hamid el Gzlane, the town where the asphalt ends and the route that will take us to the desert begins. We will travel, for about 3 hours, off road track, with different landscapes; hammada (stone desert), an oasis... until we reach the Chegaga dunes, where we will find a sea of sand with dunes 300 m high and an extension of about 45 km. They will receive us with the tea ceremony, as a sign of welcome. We can go on a dromedary excursion. We will spend the night in the haimas camp.
Day 3 Erg Chegaga - Iriki Lake - Foum Zguid - Tazenakht - High Atlas - MarrakechAfter seeing the sunrise, if desired, and having had breakfast, we will follow the route through the old Paris Dakar Rally, which will take us to more desert landscapes, we will pass by Lake Iriki, surrounded by dunes and which at some times of the year carry water. We will follow the track to Foum Zguid, where we will return to asphalt. From there we will pass through Tazkakht, the Atlas and arrival in Marrakech. Where we will transfer you to your accommodation or at the airport (for departures after 9:00 p.m.).
