Henna tattoos

Henna is one of the most valued plants in Morocco, not only for its medicinal properties but also for its cosmetic and magical qualities. Henna tattoos are a must in all social and family events in Morocco. Drawings of flowers, calligraphies or symbolic signs are drawn on the woman's hands and feet.

Henna, in Moroccan culture, is used as a talisman against the "evil eye", as protection, purification and as a lucky charm during ceremonies. For Moroccan women it is much more than a dye or drawing.

As a cosmetic, it is used to dye and sanitize hair and to beautify hands and feet.
The use of henna is not limited to cosmetic or ritual, but also to healing, since this plant is used to treat dermatological problems.

Some Arab proverbs tell us about this plant: If my words were false, I would not present my henna-dyed hand to you. The Prophet Muhammed defined her as the queen of all flowers, with the soft perfume of this world and the other. It is a ritual inherited from generation to generation to this day.

Henna tattoos disappear after a week or about ten days, it depends on the type of skin, how long it has been without touching water ... you can return from your trip in Morocco with a very characteristic symbol of the place.

You have to keep in mind that real henna is red in color. Black henna tattoos carry chemicals, sometimes unhealthy for the skin.
