An excursion full of charm: the dunes of the Merzouga desert are spectacular and of a beautiful golden color. The visit to the Dades and Todra gorges help to complete the circuit until reaching Marrakech.
The option that we propose starts in Fez and ends in Marrakech. If the traveler wishes, we can take care of accommodation in Marrakech (riad, hotel or apartment) and take a guided tour of the city.
The circuit can also be done in reverse.
Pick up at 8 o'clock in the accommodation in Fez. We start the trip through the Middle Atlas enjoying the change of landscape and culture (from the north of the country to the desert of Merzouga). We will pass through the cedar forest, Ifrane, Azrou (important craft center specialized in cedar joinery). We continue through the Middle Atlas to the pass of Zad (at 2,178 meters high) and the city of Midelt. We continue through Erfoud (the desert gate and known for the extraction and processing of fossils). We will continue until we reach the dunes of Erg Chebbi. We will make a dromedary excursion and arrive at the camp where we will spend the night in tent or, if you prefer, in a hotel near the dunes.
Day 2 Merzouga - Erfoud - Todra Gorges - Dades Valley - Dades GorgesWe recommend getting up early to see the sunrise and enjoy the sunrise from the great silence of the desert. We take the dromedary back to the hotel, where we can take a shower, breakfast and follow the route. We will continue the trip to Rissani and Erfoud to visit the fossilized marble treatment plant before continuing to Touroug Tinjdad and the Pamerales. We will reach the Gorges of Todra and continue towards the Dades Gorges through Boumalne and Dades valley.
Day 3 Dades Gorges - Valley of the Roses - Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou - MarrakechAfter breakfast, we will return through the Dades Valley and cross the track that crosses the Valley of the Roses. We will enjoy the landscapes of the region and the impressive palm grove of zagoura. We will continue to Ouarzazate, where the film studios of Atlas Studios are located, where great films such as Gladiator, Asterix and Obelix, Ben Hur, The Mummy, etc. have been filmed. Next we find the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1987. After the visit in the kasbah, we will take the mountain of Tizi'n Tiscka (2,260 m altitude) to reach Marrakech, in your accommodation to airport.
It depends on the number of people, season and conditions.
